The R5 has only one job: to get to the summit fast. Even if glory and a huge crowd of fans await at a mountain finish, it’s usually not the only climb of the day. And while most races aren’t won on the descents, they can certainly be lost there. A climbing bike that can’t handle a switchback feels like a cup of decaf coffee.

FASTER IN EVERY WAY

The new R5 frame is 130g lighter than its predecessor – a 16% reduction on an already lightweight frame. And although aerodynamics weren’t as much of a focus in the development of this frame as they were with the S5 or P5, air resistance was reduced by 25g by routing the cables internally.

LESS STIFF, BUT FAST

The R5 is stiff, but not too stiff – the Swiss Army knife of climbing bikes, if you will. Balance, stability, and power transfer that feels “just right” and keeps you fresh and ready to conquer the road.
