The new 1×11-speed chainrings for XTR and Deore have been further developed on the basis of intensive tests with world-class cross-country and trail riders. Efficient chain guidance with Dynamic Chain Engagement

Even more efficient chain guidance was the declared aim for the development of the new chainrings for the DEORE XT (SM-CRM81). This goal is achieved through the so-called Dynamic Chain Engagement. The revised tooth profiles of the CRM81 chainrings are shaped in such a way that they provide optimum retention and guidance of the chain on the chainring, while at the same time reducing drive noise and minimizing wear. Coated steel teeth on the DEORE XT guarantee maximum durability.
