Description
For race bikes and dream bikes
The air is thinnest at the top. That’s precisely where the XX1 Eagle excels. Even within SRAM’s expanded Eagle ecosystem, it’s the groupset for world-class race bikes and absolute dream bikes. Offering top-level performance and compatible with all Eagle shifting systems, the XX1 Eagle drivetrain will remain incredibly precise, intuitive, and quiet, now and in the future.
With optimized chain retention thanks to a new derailleur cage architecture, the XX1 Eagle maintains its position at the pinnacle of mountain bike drivetrains. On top of that, there’s a real boost in aesthetics: with the XX1 Eagle, SRAM launches its coordinated Eagle color system. Shifters, crankset, and derailleur all follow the same XX1 Master color theme, which can be combined with any cassette and chain color to personalize the bike’s design concept—whether it’s black, gold, rainbow, or the brand-new copper. The XX1 Eagle remains the lightest groupset in the Eagle ecosystem. It now boasts an increased 520 percent gear range thanks to our new 10-52 tooth cassette. Stronger riders can choose a larger chainring for more top speed without sacrificing climbing ability.

Connection and color
The XX1 Eagle chain is more than just a combination of hollow pins and links; it’s uncompromisingly strong at an ultralight weight, delivering consistent performance and silky-smooth, silent operation. Complete with SRAM’s brand-new Eagle color system, it also sets new aesthetic standards, giving riders color options from black to gold to rainbow – including the all-new copper.
Technologies used
In this chapter, we explain the technologies that the manufacturer uses in this product.
HARD CHROME
The SRAM HARD CHROME chain has four times the wear resistance of SRAM’s other chains. This is due to their new manufacturing process for the inner links and rollers. Push-pin strength and overall strength are comparable to our current chains. The HARD CHROME chain lasts longer and is extremely durable.
PowerLock
SRAM’s chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool-free, secure, and consistent way to connect their chains. While no special tools are required for installation, due to the tight tolerances of 10- and 11-speed drivetrains, each PowerLock is intended for single use only.
X-SYNC
SRAM’s X-SYNC 1x chainrings deliver top performance and durability. The long SRAM X-SYNC tooth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangular teeth. The sharp, narrow tooth profile and rounded chamfered edges further enhance chain retention. To ensure optimal performance even in muddy conditions, X-SYNC chainrings feature recesses to channel dirt and mud away from the inner chain links and rollers. Manufactured in Germany, X-SYNC chainrings are a key component of SRAM’s 1x drivetrain.
eagle
Eagle technology represents SRAM’s latest 1x drivetrain technology. Eagle is a lighter, simpler, more durable, and easier-to-use drivetrain. Eagle features brand-new 1x components that deliver even greater durability and performance while offering a significant weight advantage compared to other drivetrain solutions. Eagle technology also boasts an expanded gear range of 500%, making it comparable to 2×11 drivetrains.
FLOWLINK
The chain’s ultra-smooth inner plates are completely free of edges. This reduces friction on the cassette and chainring, resulting in quieter performance and extended component lifespan. The chain’s design allows for a narrower profile, making it more torsionally rigid. Smoother outer plates ensure more consistent riveting and higher tensile strength.
