Specialized Propero 4 Helmet

The Propero 4 combines the aerodynamic advantages of the S-Works Evade 3 with the excellent ventilation of the S-Works Prevail 3, without compromising comfort or, most importantly, safety. With the Propero 4, we’ve designed a high-performance helmet for competition that excels in all categories, be it aerodynamics, ventilation, or weight. From newcomers to seasoned veterans, the Propero 4 is a helmet for all racers and it is ready to contribute its part to those crucial seconds.

AERODYNAMICS: Aerodynamics were paramount in the development of the Propero 4. We conducted extensive studies in computational fluid dynamics and tests in our WinTunnel until we achieved the perfect design. It’s no surprise, then, that the new Propero bears a strong resemblance to the S-Works Evade 3 from the front. It was a lot of effort, but it paid off in the end, as the Propero 4 is a full 15 seconds faster over 40 km than our S-Works Prevail 3. That equates to four watts of power that can now be converted into speed.

VENTILATION: Just as important as aerodynamics is the ventilation of the Propero 4. Here, too, we drew inspiration from our S-Works helmets. We didn’t simply want to copy the S-Works Prevail 3, however. We wanted to integrate and improve its ventilation system into the new design. Ultimately, we opted for its rear vents and added a new system to the Propero 4. Micro Channeling consists of tiny air channels, only 2 mm in diameter, that swirl the airflow throughout the helmet, ensuring continuous ventilation and refreshing coolness.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Of course, we didn’t limit ourselves to aerodynamic properties and ventilation during development. We considered every single detail and incorporated as much technology as possible from our S-Works helmets – including MIPS® technology for added confidence and an adjustment system that provides all-day comfort. The new Propero 4 therefore perfectly meets our requirements for a high-end performance helmet for competition.
