Northwave Extreme XC GTX shoes

Northwave’s Extreme XC GTX® shoes, with their Duratherm Kelvin Gore-Tex® membrane, combine excellent breathability with complete waterproofing and windproofing. They offer technical features and maximum comfort in all weather conditions. Warm toes, even in the most extreme weather, are ensured by the additional lining in the front of the shoes.

Power is transferred via the XC12 carbon sole. This is direct and effective, thanks to the 100% carbon inserts in the pedal area and a stiffness index of 12.0 (a unit of measurement that defines stiffness on a scale of 0 to 15). Strategically placed TPU inserts ensure excellent grip and abrasion resistance.

The upper features a patented, ultralight XFrame® and an overlap construction made from the most innovative materials: it perfectly hugs the foot, eliminates pressure points, and transfers every watt of power to the drivetrain without loss. Thanks to the latest technologies, Northwave was able to reduce the weight of the rubber protectors by 5% while still maintaining their abrasion resistance and unique 360° protection across the entire shoe. Easy adjustment and a consistent fit are ensured by the SLW2 dial closure system. Unique in its class, its micro-adjustment allows for millimeter-precise adjustment and customization of the shoe.

The new Easyfit Climaflex entry area combines the extreme flexibility of the Gore-Tex Rattler® membrane with the high thermal insulation of neoprene, guaranteeing mobility as well as protection against cold and wet conditions. The ergonomic heel shape with its anatomical fit, thanks to state-of-the-art thermoforming technology, in conjunction with Northwave’s Arctic 4Layer insole made of EVA + aluminum and EVA + pile, ensures excellent thermal insulation. 360° reflective inserts provide added safety in low-light conditions.

The upper design, the precisely positioned lacing, and the high-strength Dyneema cable with the SLW2 dial closure enable a complete and consistent fit: This is the X-Frame® revolution.

SLW2 Closing System
The micrometric SLW2 system (Speed ​​Lace Winch) with its innovative micro-adjustable closure allows you to intuitively and precisely adjust the fit in just a few moments. The side button offers a dual function: pressing it provides incremental, micrometric loosening, while lifting it completely opens the shoe fully.
